Our statement of faith

The Bible

We believe that every word in the original manuscripts of the Bible is inspired by God and without error. Therefore, the Bible is the final authority for what we ought to believe and how we ought to behave (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21; 1 Cor. 2:13)

The Trinity

We believe that there is one true God who exists eternally in three persons-Father, Son and Holy Spirit- and that these three are one God; equal in nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of equal worship, trust, and obedience (Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:19; 1 Thess. 1:3-5)

The Father

We believe in God the Father as the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. All who trust in Jesus Christ as sole and sufficient Savior become sons and daughters of God. Furthermore, He loves, elects, predestines, and bestows everything that the believer needs to live a victorious life and mature in the Christian faith (Matt. 6:26; John 14:1-2; John 16:27).

The Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is God Incarnate, fully God and fully man; He was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and offered his life as a substitute for sinful mankind. Through His sacrifice on the Cross, Jesus satisfied the righteous demands of a holy God who could not overlook sin. He was raised bodily on the third day and ascended to heaven to intercede for believers until His glorious return (Matt. 1:18-21; Luke 1:26-33; John 1:1; 14, 28; Philipp. 2:5-8)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. He convicts sinners of their sin, indwells the believer at the point of faith in Christ, and graciously equips every Christian for godly living and service (Rom. 8:12-17 Gal. 5:16-23; 1 Cor. 12:4-11).

Mankind/Human Depravity

We believe that mankind was created in the image and likeness of God, but through the original sin of Adam all subsequent humanity became tainted with sin. Consequently, all are sinners by nature and practice, eternally doomed apart from the grace of God (Gen. 1:27; 9:6; Rom. 5:12, 3:23; Eph. 2:1).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone. No ordinance, ritual or activity is required for salvation. Jesus Christ is the sole and sufficient savior of mankind. Only through faith in Christ can one be rescued, reconciled, and renewed (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7).

Christian living

We believe that Christians have been exhorted to live exemplary lives in gratitude to Christ, to the glory of God and by the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. This lifestyle is realized through a commitment to worship God, evangelism, spiritual growth, service and through fellowship with other believers. (Eph. 4:1-6; 5:18b; 1 Tim. 1:12-15,17; Gal. 5:16-22; John 4:23-24; Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Pet. 4:10; 2 Pet. 3:18; Heb. 10:25).

The church

We believe that the Church, consisting of all true believes in Christ, is the body and bride of Christ, and God’s primary instrument, through which He is fulfilling His redemptive purposes on earth. The Church has the responsibility to preach the good news of Jesus to the unbelieving, equip the believers for the work of ministry, and represent Christ (Matt. 16:18; 1 Cor. 12:12-13, 27; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:24-25, 30)

The ordinances

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only ordinances of the church to be observed until Christ’s return; They are not a means of salvation, but visual aids to help us understand and appreciate the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the Cross (Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26).
